Planning and Development

Our local “watch dog”, keeping an eye on local planning submissions

The Planning and Development Action Group are new to the Community Association. It was set up in 2018 in response to recent buildings that were not in keeping with the tone of the village, and also because of new developments being proposed that did not take into account the limits of local infrastructure. We are not against development with the village, but believe that it must be done with careful planning to ensure that public safety is safeguarded and that the infrastructure is built in accordance with the demands of a rising population.

This group provides the Community with a platform & opportunity for involvement in advising the County Council, the Planning Authorities and other decision-makers on development projects, general or community plan amendments, rezonings and public facilities.

We provide a bridge for communication, advice & context for the Community

Community Residents wishing to submit individual comments on developments can do so by engaging with Cork County Council’s website and submitting objections, submissions, observations etc,

This group reports into the Watergrasshill Community Association Committee.
