2019 Committee Statement:
It was with deep regret, due to lack of sponsorship resources support, that we have no choice but to cancel all activities due to take place on the Main Street Watergrasshill over the June bank holiday 2019, our traditional “HILLFEST”. It could not be run & coordinated without financial support.
All other Club & fundraising events remained unchanged ensuring the “circle of cooperation” with our Community continued.
All options were explored & exhausted in an attempt by Watergrasshill Community Association & Watergrasshill National School Parent’s Association to continue HILLFEST 2019, the decision not to proceed with the main events was not taken lightly and ended 6 years of incredible dedication by a small team. Good funding for projects came out of HILLFEST over these years as well as some great collaboration between Clubs that continues today.
It is important to note & thank sincerely all our Sponsors who have given us the support over the past 6 years and indeed to those who have volunteered & helped out.
One of the objectives of HILLFEST is to get the various community groups working together and improve the community ethos.
HILLFEST enabled the various strands of our community working together, outlining a community working together, building Community Spirit.
Today the brand “HILLFEST” can still create a platform for ALL local Club’s to use as a fundraising opportunity.
We hope someday that something may again rise from the ashes.
