- Initiated December 03,1980 (Original meeting minutes on file).
- Relevant constitution was drafted & adopted at a following meeting dated Wednesday December 17, 1980.
- Mention about Tidy Towns back in the 1980’s & the “Garden Awards”.
- Youth Club prior to Community Hall been constructed.
- 1988/1989 – First idea & thoughts about the Building of a Community Centre.
- 1993 – Design & Finance discussion stages
- Community Centre Officially opened November 1998
- Cost of Community Centre build: circa IRP 300 K. Borrowing paid off with 3 years of build.
The Watergrasshill Community Association was founded in 1980 and is a Muintir na Tire affiliated registered charity. We generally hold a monthly meeting during the first week of every month in the community hall at 8:30 pm – 9:30pm, apart from the months of July and August. Action Group progress reports and discussions take place at these meetings. Our AGM date varies annually. All are welcome to attend these monthly meetings.
We have 2 facilities, Community Centre & First Fruits Arts Theatre.
