- Initiated December 03,1980 (Original meeting minutes on file).
- Relevant constitution was drafted & adopted at a following meeting dated Wednesday December 17, 1980.
- Mention about Tidy Towns back in the 1980’s & the “Garden Awards”.
- Youth Club prior to Community Hall been constructed.
- 1988/1989 – First idea & thoughts about the Building of a Community Centre.
- 1993 – Design & Finance discussion stages
- Community Centre Officially opened November 1998
- Cost of Community Centre build: circa IRP 300 K. Borrowing paid off with 3 years of build.
The Watergrasshill Community Association was founded in 1980 and is a Muintir na Tire affiliated registered charity. We generally hold a monthly meeting during the first week of every month in the community hall at 8:30 pm – 9:30pm, apart from the months of July and August. Action Group progress reports and discussions take place at these meetings. Our AGM date varies annually.
We have 2 facilities, Community Centre & First Fruits Arts Theatre.
The Association is broken up into the following working sub-committees:
